Advocating for Urgent European Digestive Health Action and Policy Change
We transformed the findings of a detailed pan-European report into a clear, impactful narrative designed to shape EU advocacy and command attention at major congresses and events.
Client: United European Gastroenterology (UEG)
Report launched at a high-profile event in the European Parliament in Brussels
Achieved over 1,400 visits from key stakeholders within two months of the launch
Secured over 1.8 million opportunities to see through an associated media drive
Our approach
United European Gastroenterology (UEG) commissioned the White Book 2 – a landmark, 250+ page scientific report delivering a comprehensive comparative analysis of the public health and economic burden of digestive diseases and cancers across Europe.
Our challenge was to distil this vast body of complex data into a compelling, visually engaging advocacy tool capable of influencing policymakers at EU level.
Working in close partnership with experts from the UEG Public Affairs Group and Research Committee, our writing and creative teams transformed dense scientific evidence into a powerful 36-page report. The publication clearly articulated the scale of the burden, the economic consequences, and, critically, a set of urgent, actionable policy recommendations designed to drive prevention, improve patient outcomes and unlock greater investment in digestive health research.
An integrated international media campaign supported the launch, amplifying the report’s impact beyond the page and into policy conversations.
Outcomes
The report was formally launched at a high-profile event at the European Parliament in Brussels, attended by leading experts and influential stakeholders, positioning digestive health firmly on the EU policy agenda.
Featuring a Foreword from Dr Hans Henri P. Kluge, WHO Regional Director for Europe, the report gained significant institutional credibility. It was presented to Dr Kluge during a dedicated session at UEG Week and became a central feature of a major patient event led by the UEG Public Affairs Group.
The coordinated media campaign generated over 1.8 million opportunities to see, securing coverage in influential outlets including Euractiv and the European Medical Journal.
Beyond launch, the report continues to serve as a cornerstone advocacy resource, actively supporting UEG’s ongoing policy engagement and research funding efforts across Europe.
“Beyond is a loyal and reliable partner, consistently delivering services to an exceptionally high standard.”
